Andrew Jackson
Andrew Jackson (March 15, 1767 –June 8, 1845) was the seventh President of the United States (1829–1837). The quote ‘One Man With Courage Makes a Majority’ was attributed to Jackson by Robert F. Kennedy in his "Foreword" to the "Young Readers Memorial Edition" of John F. Kennedy's Profiles in Courage, and also by Ronald Reagan in nominating Robert Bork to the US Supreme Court.
ABOUT HERCULES CAPTURING CERBERUS: Designed by Antonio Beduzzi and sculpted by Mattielli, Hercules Capturing Cerberus is a large outdoor sculpture located at Reichkanzleitrakt (the Hofburg complex) in Vienna, Austria, depicting Hercules’ twelfth and final labor, the capture of Cerberus. This was to be by far the most dangerous of the twelve labours that Hercules had to perform to absolve himself of his past sins and achieve immortality. Cerberus had teeth of a razor's sharpness, three heads, a venomous snake for a tail and for good measure another swarm of snakes growing out of his back. Cerberus stood guard to the gate of the Underworld kingdom, Hades, and while he would not prevent anyone to enter the realm of the dead, he tore to pieces anyone who dared to exit.
Hercules made his way down to Hades, encountering monsters, heroes, and ghosts as he made his way through the Underworld. Then, finally, he found Pluto and asked the god for Cerberus. The lord of the Underworld replied that Hercules could indeed take Cerberus with him, but only if he overpowered the beast with nothing more than his own brute strength and so long as he returned Cerberus after his task had been completed.
A weapon-less Hercules set off to find Cerberus. Near the gates of Acheron, one of the five rivers of the Underworld, Hercules encountered the beast. After a titanic struggle, Hercules got Cerberus by the throat and choked him into submission. He then chained him, slung him over his shoulder and carted him off to Tiryns, where he was found victorious and absolved of his sins and rewarded with immortality.
